My colleague has sent me a powerpoint file. Whenever I open it prompts for
link update. However there's in fact no link in the file. How can I remove
the message "asking link update" when I open the file? Any ideas what caused
the problem?

Sounds like he sent you a presentation with a linked file in it, like Excel,
and forgot to take the link out. Just go to Edit>Links, and you can delete
the link.

Hi Linda,

Thanks for your quick response. I have gone thru the whole file, there's no
link there. When I have the file open, I go to "File | Properties | the tab
Content | it shows the file has a Link to Content which links to her local
drive.

Have you tried going to the menu bar, clicking Edit and looking for the word
Links? That'll give you a dialog box where you can select the link and click
the Break Link button.

Yes, I did. I believe there's a link somewhere in the document because the
"Link" button is "on" so I can select it and open the Links dialogue box.
However there's nothing in there, the dialogue box is empty. I did also use
VBA to find link in the document and the result is none.
