Linking and tracking resources over different projects

I want to be able to track people resources over our internal company network
over a number of projects to make sure that were not going to have someone
scheduled for 2 projects at the same time. I want to know if I can do this
with Project Pro. 2003 or do I also need the server packages.

Just create the projects as usual, without resources. Then create a
file called Resource Pool with no tasks, and enter the resources in it.
Go back to the project files, and do a Project, Resource Sharing, Share
Resources and select Resource Pool from the dropdown list. Link all
projects to the Resource Pool. Now when you look at any resource view,
you'll see utilization on all projects, and any overallocations that
have occurred.
You can also create a Master Project with all the projects in it by
selecting this option (the third one down) when you open the Resource
Pool.

Hi Ericu,

You may do this using Project Pro 2003 without server. Take a look in help
under "resource pools".

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi,

You can just as well do it with Project Standard.
If you do not use server pro has nothing more than standard.
