Linking Between Projects

Are there any issues to consider when linking tasks between projects?
We are using Project Server and want to prevent any issues that might
pop up by virtue of the projects not being LAN or stand-alone, but
rather in Project Server.

Our specific circumstance would be a main (large) project that may have
out-branches when one project turns into two or more projects that
would have different paths/processes to take the project to completion.
This could happen far down the line of the project and would involve
the second project needing information from the first project to be
duplicated by linking into the second project.

You can certainly create a master project based on what you describe. My
best advice is "keep it simple" as far as task linkages between the projects
in the master project. The more complicated you make your cross-project
dependencies, the more difficult it becomes should you ever get a circular
reference error in the master project. Focus on the hard logic dependencies
between the subprojects and set them only where necessary. Hope this helps.
