Linking Fields

In Word, I want to have a cover page with "Version 2" or something like
that. I also want the same version to be in the footer of the document. So
when I change it to version 3, etc., I won't have to change it in multple
places.

I read the help for linking fields, but it didn't seem to describe this.

Any help would be appreciated!

WJ,

A STYLEREF Field should work for you. As an example, format the Cover Page
text "Version 2" with Heading 1 style. In the header, enter the field {
STYLEREF "Heading 1" } where { } are entered with CTRL+F9.
