Linking from sheet to sheet

Is it possible to link workbooks together if the sourse
file is constantly being moved via a local network. My
office does not have a server and I want to link many
files together. This will enable me to create a report
with running totals. If a file is moved, will a new link
need to be established every time?

AFAIK Excel does not support this. So if you move the file to a
different location how should Excel know there's stored after the move

Is this one of these projects where you get input from many sources and have to
combine them?

If yes, then as long as you keep your workbooks in the same locations, then your
links should work. You just update your copies when you get the new data.

(I'd keep all of the input files in the same folder--just for organizational
reasons.)
