I currently have 5 subprojects with 1 master schedule...I was wanting to
know if it's possible at all to link a task in 3 of the subprojects to one
task in the master?

Example: I have the following subprojects, each having a development task

Subproject 1
Development duration 3/12/08 - 3/14/08 20%
Subproject 2
Development duration 3/14/08 - 3/20/08 10%
Subproject 3
Development duration 3/17/08 - 3/26/08 5%

I would like them all to roll up together in the master...

Master Project
Development duration 3/12/08 - 3/26/08 12%

Is there a way to do this and if so how?

Thanks so much!!!

% Complete,
Very definitely. As a matter of fact a very similar question was asked
yesterday - "Linking Dependencies across subprojects" posted by Anika.
Check the thread of responses to that question.

Dear Microsoft Office Project user,

Your requirement is to insert projects to a master project, such that data
in master project is based on the data of the sub projects.

Please follow the below steps.
1. Save all the sub projects in separate schedule files.
2. Create a new schedule (master project).
3. Choose Insert > Project ... and select the first sub project
4. Repeate Step 3, for each sub project.
5. Turn on the project summary task (Tools > Options, View tab and check
Show Project Summary task) (or) create a new summary task in master project.

Please let us know if this helps.

Regards
Sai [PMP]
