Links in my Word documents

I am having problems with my links in Word documents. Many times I get an
error showing an "invalid link." I cannot seem to pinpoint when or why this
happens. Many times it happens after copying the document onto another
computer. And then sometimes it just happens. Some are links from form
fields in the document and some are Excel links.
Thanks.

Hello-

Not being sarcastic, but you answered your own question..."Many times it
happens after copying the document onto another computer."

Think of a Link as a specific map that tells the computer what turns to make
in order to find a certain file. The map from L.A. to Reno won't get you to
Reno if your starting point is actually Chicago.

The same problem is caused if the "target" of the link changes. That same
L.A.>Reno map won't get you from L.A. to Reno if Reno has been moved to
Kansas.

Hope this is helpful |:>)

Is there any way around this problem without having to change the source
document the links after placing them on every other computer?
I need to create & distribute this form to many different users & computers.
Thanks.
