Links on Newsgroups

I can not click on links posted on the newsgroups. I get a list of files for
some reason. I can copy the link and paste into Explorer but why are the
link to web sites not working?

Do the following: Control panel>Folder options>File types> scroll to, and
select "HTML" extension - should state it opens with IE - if so check
"Advances' and verify default action is "Open'. if not - select "Change' and
select IE

In IE, go to tools, options, programs and click the reset web settings
button.
