Links to URL's in emails highjack an open browser window

When clicking on a URL link in email in OutLook it always highjacks an open
IE browser window (such as where I have half filled out a form). There is no
option to 'open in new window' as is found in the right click menu for a link
on a webpage in IE. Can Microsoft make email links to always open in a new
browser window (or tab) or add "Open in New Window" to the right click menu?

That behavior is controlled by the browser and not by each and every
application that might need to launch hyperlinks. Some applications have
options to overrule the browser's configured behavior but in general they
follow the configured setting.

In Internet Explorer check your Tab options and the Advanced options to
configure how you want links from other applications to be opened in IE.
