little icon saying Mail has arrived

On my last computer, a little envelope showed up when I
got mail in Outlook. I'm not seeing it on my new
computer. Don't recall if I ever did and it's gone or if
I never had it on the new machine.

Is it just a setting? Or does that not work on XP?
