Locate task by typing start of name?

David Beaven

In mail folders you can sort by a field and start typing e.g. abc to locate
within the sorted list entries beginning abc.
Can the same be done with task folders?
Thanks
David

Yes if (a) you have sorted the view by the field that contains the information you want to match and (b) you have turned off in-cell editing in the view.

Hello David,

Thank you for your post.

Yes, we are able to use this method for locating tasks. However, we need to
disable the "Allow In-cell Editing" feature first to get the get the
keystrokes to work.

1. In the Tasks folder, right-click the related field (for example,
Subject), and click "Customize Current View".

2. Click "Other Settings".

3. Click to clear the "Allow In-cell Editing" check box, and click OK.

4. Click OK to return to the Outlook view.

5. Now we can type the first few characters of the task that you want to
find it.
