Lock few fields in word document.

I have a word document template having few fields. Using
VB front end, I have to lock few fields. User should be
able to edit the unlocked fields in the final document.
How to lock & unlock selected fields in word document
using VB front end?

Hi,

To lock some fields but not others, you need to put the
fields you want locked in the own section(s) and protect
those section(s).

I assume you are talking of form fields here.

As i understand it, something of what you are asking fo may become available
in Word 2003, due to be released soon, but it isn't possible with any
current version of Word.

Hard to say without knowing more about how the document is
set up. What kinds of fields are we talking about?

Can you identify them by their location? Are they they only
fields of this type in the document?
