Locking style on a template

I'm new to Word, so please excuse my lack of proper lingo.

I'm creating a template to be used by multiple users and I would like it to
be protected to one font and one font size only. So if a paragraph is pasted
into the document it will default to that one font as well. However, I
cannot use the protection fields as they disable the auto-text function. Any
suggestions?

In the unlikely situation that every one of your users has Word 2003,
you can choose to restrict the template to only the Normal style,
which you can modify to have the font and size you want. This is on
the Protect Document task pane.

Anybody who opens a document based on this template in an earlier
version of Word will see a completely locked, uneditable document.

There is no comparable feature in any version before 2003. About the
best you can do is a series of macros in the template that intercept
the Save and Print functions and remove all formatting before
performing the original function.

Thanks Jay. Luckily all users in the company are on XP with Word 2003 so your
fix will work fine. I just tried it out with no problems.
