long documents

I converted a book length document into Word and transfered it into my new laptop. This 540-page document became 2700 pages....At the end of the book, I have over 2100 pages of gibberish (like MNPOXXO@) on each page. I have no idea how to delete these amount of pages without doing it one by one. I can't select these amount of pages, my laptop boots and reboots...totally confused...Would appreciate personal email....thank you.

Sounds like you opened it via File Open with the dropdown set to Recover
Text From Any File? Assuming you have made no changes and saved it,
changing the dropdown and re-opening it might work.

Re just recovering the text, if down to desperate measures, better to copy
the 540 pps into a new file (chapter by chapter) than try to delete 2100
pages. You could insert the cursor at beginning, use Edit | Go To to go to
p. 540, shift click at the end of the desired text to select it all, then
copy.
