looking for a format that we can import info into outlook calendar

Is there a format or file that we can import into that would fill
appointments on outlook calendar? FYI we want to pull the data from an
AS/400

You should be able to import from a CSV file (comma separated values). If
you export from an existing Calendar folder to a CSV file, you can see the
field names (column headings) you can use for the data when creating the
import file.
