Lost all saved e-mails

I was searching how to add an old .pst to my Vista Outlook and somehow all of
my e-mails (saved, sent, deleted, etc.) have disappeared. I've searched
through my computer and can't find anything which might be a file containing
these e-mails. My recycled bin doesn't show any files deleted today.

Do you think my old Outlook files are on my hard drive somewhere?

Thanks,

I hope you didn't copy the "old" PST over your profile PST. If you did
then it won't be found.

Thank you. It would appear that, somehow, the informtion in the Outlook.pst
file was lost and the current file holds only today's messages. I had my old
phonebook in one of the messages that was lost, but I hadn't retrieved it to
my hard drive. The "old" Outlook.pst file is not in my recycle bin, so I
know that I hadn't mistakenly deleted it. I can't believe that I lost all
of those e-mails, but it's my fault for not backing up my computer for some
months, now.

I appreciate your and K Orland's assistance.

Best regards,

I'm a bit confused, how many PST files did you really have? One or Two?
And where did the "old" one come from and then where did the "new one
come from? Normally you would open the "old" one from inside Outlook and
retrieve the contents into the "new" one via dragging and dropping the
contents of the folders.
