Lost Microsoft paint

I have windows XP and I used to have paint. Either it's gone now or I can't
find it. I think I installed an office update and several things aren't the
same now. I used to have a calculator for example and it is gone. Is there a
way to get these things back. Also my Microsoft works isn't the same as it
used to be. Would update mess all of this up? Do I need to do anouther update
to fix it? Can I downdload these things? Thanks

And the reason you're posting this in an Office group is...? Paint is part
of the operating system, *not* Office.

Click Start > Run and type mspaint.exe and hit enter. If paint
appears, then it IS still on your system. To find your calculator,
click Start > Run and type calc and hit enter.

Yes, using a new version of software WILL mean that things may change
and that you will have to learn how the new version works. I doubt
that things are missing, things are most likely just different and
you'll need to become familiar with the new format to better find what
you need.

You might want to read these TechTrax article to become more familiar
with WinXP:

Also...realize that the group you posted to is related to Microsoft
Office. Paint and those other ACCESSORY programs are part of Windows.
So you might want to check in those groups for further details if
you're still having problem. But I'll be once you become more familiar
with the new layout, you'll start finding what you're missing.

And no...reinstalling with not change the fact that WinXP is different
from previous versions of Windows.

Good luck...

To answer your question...I put it here because I thought it was part of
Microsoft office.

Thanks for your help. I actually posted the question from my work computer.
When I got home I thought about doing just what you had said to do on my home
computer where I was having the problem. I had remembered seeing that option
there awhile back. I did it and everything is back to normal. I read your
reply afterwards and smiled because I knew I'd done the right thing. Too bad
I didn't think of it until after I posted!
