lost pst files

help! when starting outlook 2000, i received the error
message "can't find personal folders file" or something
like that. i couldn't open outlook after several attempts
and i stupidly chose "create new personal folder" option
and it started a whole new, blank outlook. now, i can't
locate my last two years of outlook files to restore them.
any ideas on why this would happen all of a sudden, and if
it might be possible to restore my old outlook files? i'm
using win 98 on my machine and i would periodically use
auto-archive in outlook. thanks, robert

I'm sure you have done this already, but have you gone
to "tools,services.....add....personal folders....select
the drop down box to you're local disk, then local
settings, outlook, and select the .pst files. I'm not too
sure of the exact location in 98, but do a search for
*.pst and you should be able to find you're .pst.

Hope this helps!
