Mac ppt won't open in PC

My PC (XP, Powerpoint 2003) won't open a ppt presentation created on the Mac. I have tried saving it as a package but it still doesn't open. The error message says 'Powerpoint can't read...

I have transferred to Mac file to a USB disk and it still doesn't read.

Any ideas??

This should fix you up. It is like that 2003 hasn't been updated
properly with the latest service packs:

PowerPoint can't open the type of file represented by [FILENAME]

If David's suggestion doesn't help, could you clarify for us whether you saved the
presentation in PPT 2008's normal format (PPTX) or as PowerPoint 97-2004 format
(PPT)?

PPT 2008 uses a new file format that earlier versions on Mac and versions earlier
than 2007 on PC can't read.

You can also install a compatibility pack on the PC so that versions 2000-2003 can
open the new file format.
