Hmmmm, MKDIR is in my <cite>IBM BASIC Reference (Third Edition, May 1984)</cite>.

I do have a First Edition, at home, but I don't think they'd invented subdirectories
yet when that was written.

Paging through the one at hand, ah yes, CHDIR/MKDIR/RMDIR were all added at BASIC
2.0 (c1983)!
