Macro to import Resource Cost Data - again

I know the question "How do I import resource costs into MS Project"
has been asked multiple times in this group but I keep seeing people
say you'll have to write a macro. Which doesn't really help me that
much to be honest because I'm not good enough in VBA to do that. Does
anyone actually have a macro, add-in, application or know of a website
that has one that does this? At a previous company I worked for they
had a home made application that would take the latest forward pricing
rates by resource and import them into the selected schedule but that
was developed by the IT group.

Thanks,

From where do you want to import the resource costs? If you would give us
more information, there might be another way short of using a macro. Let us
know and we will try to help.

From an excel file would be terrific. I would like to be able to
define the date range for a specific rates on a specific resource.

Example, I would like to use Rate Table A as my baseline cost rates,
Table B for my forecast cost rates, and Table C as my fully priced
rates for a specific resource. Within each rate table I would like to
define the dates that the rate changes.

I would love to be able to do a nice check of all the data in excel
and then just import it into my current schedule to eliminate more
chances of me messing this up by doing it manualy.

I'm open to other suggestion too but would love to learn the way to do
this from an excel file.

Thanks again

Well, based on what you need to do, the only way to address this is to
create a macro to do this. The orignal advice you received in this
newsgroup was sound. If you do not have the skills to write the macro, do
you have a software developer at your company who could do it? If not, you
might want to consider hiring someone to write it for you. Hope this helps.
