macros and mail merge

In Word 2000 we are trying to record the mail merge steps with the use of macros. However, it did not record the mail merge steps. Are we missing a step or can other versions of Word record mail merge steps with the use of macros.

Dear Kimber

In Word 2000 you have to remember to use the keyboard when
recording macros. This way you will get most of the macro
stored.

However the problem comes when you want Merge to new
document or Merge to printer 'cos there is only a mouse
click available.

If you wish to tell me which actual steps are missing I
will let you have the code which you can add in Edit macro.
