macros for porject 2003

MSP is so frustrating !! - I have never written a macro so have no idea how
to start - is there a book that can either give me macros to reproduce the
following requirement or has some got one i can have!!:

I am using the resource usage view which gives me a split screen of the
resource name and their tasks etc on the lhs and and i can insert the
remaining work column that tell me whats remaining - but it doesnt tell me
when,
on the rhs is the details of when the task will occur and what week but it
is for the whole work and not just the remaining -
what i was looking for is a view for oustanding work only on the rhs and
what week it is due to complete in
- i know there is a drop down box which allows the lhs to show that but the
only selection on the rhs is either work or actual work yes i could use both
and take one form the other but i cant export the rhs detail easliy

hope this makes sense

HI,

On the right hand side, any work for a time slice that has no corresponding
actual work in the actual work row is remaining work. In VBA you would take
all work from the resume date to finish date. My book on Project VBA is the
only one written, http://www.projectvbabook.com even has a couple of free
macros for you to try.

Thanks.)

thanks Rod i agree with what you are saying but if there is work and actual
work you have to manually work out the difference which is very time
consuming if there are a lot of resources and tasks- hence the need for a
macro - even if you cut and paste into excel you need to insert lines at the
end of each task to show the resulting answer - then you can create graphs (
unless you know different) - yes i will buy your book!
