Mail gone

I checked mail on my account server and deleted the mail I did not want to
download to my outlook 2003.

When I do a send/receive it seems to work fine but there is no mail in my
outlook inbox.

After send/receive is preformed in outlook 2003 the mail is gone from the
server.

I have done the check in email accounts and it says it is doing it OK.

Any ideas on where this mail is going?

I might be confused... let me see if I have this right.

You logged onto your server and deleted the mail you didn't want downloaded.
You then did a send/receive and Outlook appeared to receive stuff, but
nothing is in your inbox.
You checked teh server again and the mail that was left is gone.

Correct?

If so, try this.
First, check for any rules that might have been applied. (Tools, Rules and
Alerts).
Then check your Junk Email Folder.
If you still can't find the mail, go to Tools, Find, Advanced Find. Do a
search for "Any type of Outlook item". Look for one of the items that you
know was in your inbox before you did a send/receive. See if Outlook finds
it in another folder.

You have it right.

I did an advanced search and could not find any mail received today. I tried
sending myself a test message, it showed up on my ISP's server so I know it
was there to download.

When I did a send and receive outlook went through the motions but the mail
was not in my inbox.

Is there a path that I can check to see if the mail is in fact pointed to
the *.pst file?

I did a help/detect and repair and for some strange reason it is working
now.

I don't know why but life is good for awhile again. <g>
