What is the exact error?

PUB2000: Jet VBA Error Starting Mail Merge in Publisher 2000

PUB2000: Error: "There is Not Enough Memory to Complete This Operation" Opening
Merged Publication

It could be updating your MDAC components and the JET might be the solution.
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8

If your MDAC components are current you may have a mismatched component.

MDAC Utility: Component Checker

What version Windows are you using? The Jet updates are OS version specific.

Publisher 2000 Mailmerge cannot continue

Exact error is "Mail merge cannot continue" when I try to Open Data Source or
load a file that contains a merged file.

I have reloaded the software from the original Publisher disk and this had
no effect.

Publisher 2000 Mailmerge cannot continue

Sorry should have said Windows XP. Have reloaded Publisher from original disk
without this solving the problem.

Exaxt error is "mail merge cannot continue" whwn I select Open Data Source
or when I open a file which contains a merged file.

I have tried loading Jet but was told have later version. Also MDAC but if
I'm honest I'm a novice user and didn't completely understand the mircosoft
posts.

What are you using as your data base? Do you use the same data over and over?
Have you thought about copy/pasting the fields to a new file? You may have some
corruption going on.

Most programs that can create a .dbf file can also create other types of files
that Publisher can use as the data source for a mail merge. If you are creating
a mail merged publication that you will need to keep reopening, save the data in
another format (such as a delimited text (.txt) or Microsoft Database (.mdb)
file).

Can't use any type of file. Just trying to start a new mail merge when I
select Open Data Source generated the same error message

Have you tried the Detect and Repair in the Help Menu?

What format is your data source?

P

Publisher 2000 Mailmerge cannot continue

Yes tried Detect and Repair and a complete reload.

Have sources files in Access, Excel and Works database. None work.

Thanks Mary.

I believe I have installed the MDAC components and hopefully correctly. I
guess I just have to try another package.
