Mail Merge problem

Hello,
I am running a mail merge in Publisher, merging information from an Excel
spreadsheet into my Publisher document. In Excel, the information is listed
alphabetically and when I preview the mail merge, the information is shown
alphabetically.

However, when I print to my printer they are not printing in the correct
(alphabetical) order. They are printing in a seemingly random order. Is
this a problem with either document or a problem with my printer?

Thanks much.

I don't think it is random, the data is merged across rather than down. This is
suppose to change in Publisher 2007, but in my experiment it didn't.

Thank you. The problem is that it prints the addresses correctly (in
alphabetical order by last name) on some printers and on others, even though
in the mail merge preview it looks correct, it prints the addresses in a
non-alphabetical order. Is there any problem in Publisher you've encountered
such as this? My gut says that it is probably this particular printer that
is the problem and not Publisher, but I wanted to double check.

Thanks

Have you tried editing the list in Publisher? You can't do much editing, but you
can alphabetize the list. Maybe a double alphabetizing will work.
