mail recepient greyed out in send to

using new dell e521 desktop, vista home premium, with originally installed
works 8.5 without word. i installed word 2002. uninstalled microsoft office
SB 2003 trial version, without ever activating with the product key. using
windows mail. set it as default program. under start>default programs.

i completed a document, & went to email it. i used file>send to> & the mail
recepient is greyed out. i checked help in word. under tools>options>general
tab, "mail as attachment" is checked. i toggled on/off as a repair. i had
tried the "detect & repair" in help also. still greyed out.

i have had some other minor glitches, & i am ready to just
uninstall/reinstall the 2002 program.

i figured i'd write to this group before i do anything. i have always
received good help here! any help greatly appreciated.

how to get the send to mail recepient back?

thank you, len kiesling

i also sent this to the wordmail newsgroup:

using vista home premium and windows mail
send to "mail recipient" is now restored. i still do not have mail recipient
(as attachment).

i did not have send page by email & send link by email in my IE7. i wrote
into the internetexplorer general newsgroup, & they provided a fix, which
fixed my missing mail recipient in send to, under file, in the word 2002
program.

here's a part from the post "send page & send link by email greyed out":

Use these steps:

Click Start, Default Programs
Click "Set program access and computer defaults"
Click "Custom", select "Windows Mail"
Click OK.

This ought to fix the problem.
