make 25 cycles of 3 tasks

R

Rom.

Dear all,

I have 3 tasks that need to to be repeated 25 times the one after the other.

I've tried the recurrent task but i'm not getting them scheduled the one
after the other.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rom,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The simplest way is to create a single task with all its data. Then, in the
Task Name column, select the task, move the cursor to the little black blob
(bottom right corner) so that it changes to a + sign, and click and drag
down to create 25 instances of the same. Whilst they are all highlighted,
click the link button (looks like a chain link) in the standard toolbar to
link them successively.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Oooops - I missed the 3 tasks - sorry. So modify what I said by creating
all 3 tasks and then select them all before filling down.

Hi Glen,

Thanks for your answer. This works on project 2003...

Now: what about MSProject 98? i don't have the "handles" to drag down.
For now, in 98 i've done a copy/paste job! then link them like you said after.

Thanks, Rom.

Aaaahhhh! the benefit of posting the version you're using!

In 98, the quickest way is to set up the 3 tasks, select all 3, copy and
paste. Now select all 6 and copy/paste, now select all 12 etc.....
