make an FPO image

I have an image I would like to have seen in a document in order to position
text, but I do not want it to print. Is there anyway to make an image
non-printing. I'm using xp, but this will need to be done on 2002.
THANKS!!

When I make the brightness 100%, I can't see the image. I want to be able to
see the image so that I can place type on it in the correct locations.

Hmmm... maybe don't change the image brightness to 100% until you are ready
to print?

Actually,I am trying to set this up so that other people can just change
dates. etc and print out on a pre-printed invitation. The template has to be
idiot proof - I can't have them change the brightness.

You can insert the image as a background or watermark, but in order to avoid
printing it, you will have to clear the check box for "Drawing objects" on
the Print tab of Tools | Options, which would also prevent text boxes from
printing. You would have to use ordinary text or frames. This sort of
project is much better done in Publisher, which has provision for a
nonprinting background.
