margins in note container

I've set up a very simple template with an inserted table on top and space
beneath the table to type in notes. The table works fine, but when I try to
type notes beneath it, I can't seem to get the margins right. Whatever I
type automatically ends about 2/3 of the way across the page, with lots of
space still available on the right hand side within the note container. Any
ideas? I can create a new note container for the notes beneath the table, but
if I want to keep everything in one note container, how can I get my notes to
go all the way from the left page margin to the right page margin? (The
table extends from the left margin to the right margin, but the text beneath
it will not for some reason). I'd appreciate any solutions!

Do you have the containers visible? Are you sure you're clicking in the
same container as the table instead of slightly outside of the container
(thereby creating a new container which won't by default line up with the
one above)?

What happens when you type and the margin is off and then click Ctrl-L or
Ctrl-R (which are the kb shotcuts for left justify and right justify)?
Could the justification of the paragraph after the table possible have been
set wrong, which carries over from the template?
