How do I get Outlook to show the icon in the Inbox that indicates that a
message has been forwarded or replied to? This is Outlook 2003. (It used to
be there but disappeared!!!!)

Don't know how to answer that... I check all of my different email accounts
with outlook 2003 - earthlink, gmail, yahoo, etc... in the column to the
left of the email columns of 'from', 'subject', etc, there is an envelope
icon... that envelope looks closed until I open and read the email... then
there used to be an arrow, either left or right over the envelope depending

dissappeared... thanks!

Are you using IMAP or POP3? Do the messages all get delivered to one inbox or one for each account? The reply and forward icons don't always work on imap.

They should definitely be used with POP3 messages. I don’t know that I've
ever seen them not work - I'd start with Detect and Repair (Help menu) and
reset the view - at start menu, run, type outlook.exe /cleanviews.
See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/resetview.htm for more information
on resetting views.
