Master Page

In my publication, I have 13 master pages. When I open the publication in a
two-page spread using any master page, the header and footer on the second
page cannot be seen. I know the header and footer are there because they
show up in master page view and print preview. I need to be able to see them
in order to know how to place pictures and other objects. How do I make the
headers and footers on both pages of the spread visible while working?

No. The headers and footers show up in Print Preview, so they can't be
covered...can they? Either way, I can't see anything covering them. They
are not headers and footers in the strictest sense - they are text boxes
placed on the master page to serve as headers and footers. The only real
footers are page numbers, which are not visible either.

You say you have 13 master pages. The page numbers will disappear if you apply a
different master page, for example on page 3 you use master page 12. You can
sort of workaround this by inserting sections and start the page numbering from
where you left off in the previous section.

Lots of help here

Thanks for your help on this.
The problem is that all information, including text boxes that I have
inserted in the master pages, are not visible when I am working on the second
page of the two-page spread. Everything is visible as it should be on the
first page of the spread, but nothing from the master page (except a
watermark) shows on the second page.

There is a check off on the master page task pane that will apply a master page
to both sides. Have you cleared the check off?

Some pages are checked and some are not. It makes no difference, nothing
from the master pages show up on my work space. I tried making sure that all
the text boxes were pulled ahead of the background on the master page to no
avail. Could it make a difference that this was converted from a 2003
publication to a 2007 publication?
