Master Project Calendar

Scottie

I have recently set up a Resource Pool with a number of project files
attached. I have changed the base calendar to 7.5 hrs / day instead of the
default 8 hrs/day. I have done the same for the Resource Pool file.

When I open the Resource Pool and take the option to open a Master File, the
base calendar then changes back to 8 hrs/day. I have tried saving the Master
file and changing the calendar, but the next time I open the Resource Pool it
opens a new Master file.

Please could you advise, if I can change the default calendar when I open
the Master Project option from the Resource Pool?

Thankyou.

Hello Scottie,

When you create a new Master Project by opening the Resource pool with
the third option (Open reosurce pool read-write and all other sharer
files into a new master project file...."), Project creates a new master
project file based upon the default settings in the Global template
(Global.mpt). The default setting of a day = 8 hours, a week = 40 hours
is controlled through those defaults in Global set through Tools >
Options, Calendar tab. You can change the defaults in the Global
template by making the change to day = 7.5, week = 37.5 and then
clicking the "Set As Default" button. *However* that will change the
definition of a day and week for all *new* project files created. It
will not change any existing project files.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
