maximum lines in project???

I have a user that has a project that is around 900 to 1000 lines. sometimes
when she opens it some of the lines are missing under the task name section
of the project, sometimes they are not. the next time she opens it she may
be missing lines under something else and the ones that were missing before
are there.
The project is password protected and only two users have access to it.
I know with Excel there is a certain amount of lines you can have before it
starts acting goofy.
Is project the same? Does anyone know how many lines you can have before
you start having issues?
I had heard from someone that if you get a project around 1k lines, it will
start to have problems, but I do not know for sure.
She is using Project 2k3 pro.

According to specifications listed here:

you can have 400,000 tasks, though I'm sure you'll have memory problems
before then Check that there are no filters being applied.
