Menu Icons

I have noticed that on the laptops in our office, the menu icons are much
smaller on the screen. I have tried to change the screen resolution, but
that didn't seem to make any difference. Could someone help? Thank you.

Well... this might make them too large, but it's worth a try. Right-click
any toolbar and choose Customize; then click the Options tab. Under Other,
if it's unchecked, enable Large Icons. This will make them considerably
larger.

Or... if Large Icons is already checked, then uncheck it, and leave it like
that for a week. When you turn it back on in a week, the user will now think
that the menu icons are HUGE. ;-)

But seriously... if this doesn't solve the issue, post back and we can look
at additional options.

That was the first thing I thought of. Unfortunately, you're right; they're
too big. Tricking this user is not an option, either, as tempting as that
is. I've tried to trick before and it hasn't worked (LOL!). Got any other
ideas? Seems to be a universal problem. Thank you for your help.

Actually, I'm surprised that changing the resolution didn't make a
differnce. When you decrease the resolution, it should make everything
larger. I do know that there usually are fewer resolution choices for most
laptop screens. Even so, when I reduce the resolution on my notebook, the
icons (and everything else) do get larger.

Other than that, I don't know what to suggest. I played with all of the
individual element settings in Display, but nothing seems to affect the size
of Office's toolbar icons.

I had a thought... turned on the registry monitor to try to see what changes
when I turn Large Icons on/off, hoping it something with more granularity
than simply ON/OFF. I've been up since 5 this morning, though, and I'm not
seeing precisely what's changing. I'll take a look again in the morning,
when I'm awake.
