Messages stuck in Outbox after mail merge

After mail merge utilizing ACT database messages remain
stuck in Outlook outbox. Each time I click "send" it
freezes up and I get a message that the messages in
question are in the process of being sent. I cannot delete
or move the messages to another folder for the same
aforementioned reason. Can anyone help me please??
