Messages with attachments stay in out box

Tim

I have just upgraded from Outlook Express to Outlook. I
have run into a problem when sending emails with
attachments with total size of greater than say 500KB.
The message seems to sit in the Outbox and I keep getting
error messages saying that the connection has timed out
((0x8004210B - Operation timed out waiting for a response
from the sending SMTP server))- yet the actual message
seems to be sent as I do receive it in the Inbox (when I
send the message to myself!) and it keeps being received
numerous times until I delete it from the Outbox. Fuuny
though but it does not appear in the Sent box
The connection diagnostic test works fine and I receive
the test message with no problems. I rang my cable
techsupport who blamed everyone and everything else yet
the error message suggests that I call my ISP!.
The timeout limit in the advanced configuration is set to
maximum.
I have a firewall and virus checking however the Outlook
Express worked fine so surely it can not be anything
there.
Any suggestions / ideas would be appreciated. I have
wasted the best part of the day trying to work this out.
I think it may be easier to stick with Outlook Express!
Regards

Sounds like your virusscanner isn't doing a great job integrating with
Outlook. Disable your outgoing virusscanner and try again.
