Microsoft 2007 trial problem

I installed the trial Business edition of Microsoft 2007. It bogged my
computer down soway too much so, I uninstalled it. I had no idea Windows XP
would be totally wiped out, but it was. When I try to reinstall my XP it
says there is a already a newer version on my computer and will not allow it.
I am at a total loss. Is there anything I can do now, any way to get back
everything I had in Word and Outlook??

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Back up a little bit.

You opted to download Office 2007 but it bogged your system down. That will
not mess up your operating system (Windows XP). Why do you think that is
what happened?

The reason your repair/reinstall of winxp failed was the your install cd was
an earlier version than the sp level that is currently on your sys.

NB Thats not to say that you needed to reinstall winxp, you should respond
to JoAnn's post
