Microsoft Document Imaging Office 2003

I can open Microsoft Doument Imaging OK. But when I click on "file" the
program comes back saying "it has encountered a problem and needs to close".

I tried to repair office 2003 but that does not correct the problem. But
when I reinstalled office 2003 and use it WITHOUTupdating office 2003, I have
no problems. It is only after the new update of office 2003 (the update
release September 18, 2007) that I have a problem. When I use the
mspview.exe from 2003 everthing works. Including the TIF association.
Anybody know a fix to the new update??

I'm having the same problem.

I followed the suggestion given below, and cleared
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSPaper 11.0\Recent File List]. That
fixed the problem for me.

But I don't know how to I disable the "recent file list". It is not in the
options dialog box.
