Microsoft equation

hi,
I'm using Mac os x. I'm trying to use the Microsoft
Equation. I'm new to Mac. Can anyone kindly tell me how
can I use it because I can't find the Microsoft Equation
in it. I tried to edit an equation which is saved in the
document from pc. But it does not allow me to edit the
equation. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Do I need to
install the add-ons to use the Microsoft Equation? If so,
where can I get it?

Please e-mail to me if anyone knows the answers to my
questions.

Thanks.

Hi

I'm pretty sure that Microsoft Equation is part of the standard install of
office. You can see if it is installed by using the menu
Insert > Object > Microsoft Equation.

If it's not there then get out the install CD and look for the Value Pack
installer. If you do have to install it from the value pack, then you will
need to re-install the office updates.

Equation should activate automatically by double-clicking a formula within a
document. However, if an equation was made using Word's field codes then it
won't start up because that is an entirely different way to create
equations.

I am also trying to use the equation editor with Word on the Mac. I
have Word 2004 teacher/student edition which I just purchased. It does
not appear under Insert>Object>. Can anyone please tell me how to get
Equation Editor for this version? Thanks!

It's in the Value Added Extras folder on the Office CD. If you did not do a
Full Install, you have to add it. The only difference between the
Educational version and the full version is the software licence: if you
qualify for an educational version, you get the full product.
