When I click on a .doc or other MS Office file, I get a
message that Windows can't find that file.
Then the MS Office begins to configure itself. MS Word
opens. When I click on the .doc icon again, it opens
inside the Word program.
Why doesn't the .doc file open directly as it used to?
I have tried uninstallin and reinstalling the MS Office
2000 program. Problem persists.
I have also tried online upgrade to MS Office 2000 SR. But
I am prompted to insert the appropriate disc when I
attempt to open the .doc files. I don't have those discs,
since the upgrade was done via download.
I then uninistalled the MS Office 2000SR and reinstalled
the MS Office 2000.
Problem persists.
Does the issue here pertain to MS Office 2000, or does the
problem pertain to the Windows Operating System?
I use Windows ME
