Microsoft Office Document Imaging - Default Save Location

Is there any way to save the default Save Location for the MSO Document
Imaging program? I changed the registry to tell it where to save the
Archived tiff files (every scan that comes in). I want my users to be able
to open from the Fax Console off of their networked printer (to the Fax
Server on Windows 2003). Then open the ifrst document, "clean it up" (ie,
get rid of cover sheets, etc) and then put it into another folder by clicking
Save As...

However, when they currently click Save As... the current path that is
showing is a Temp folder on the local computer. Is there any way to set this
folder in the registry so that it is on a networked drive (I:\faxes\cleaned
for example).

Please help! I know it should be able to be done, at least I hope!

Thanks

Does the lack of a reply mean that it is not possible? I can't find this
information anywhere. Someone give a shoutout please!

Hi Brian,

Basically, not that I recall offhand. Each 'document' in MS Office Document
Imaging is a separate instance and there isn't a setting
for the default save to folder. The setting in 'import'
seems to assume that you're going to want to put the document
back in the place where you found it. Can you send your
fax console input to a specific folder?

Thanks for the reply. I am using the Fax Console. I changed the Fax
COnsole's Inbox Archive to a network share. This way, once a fax comes in,
it is automatcially placed on the network.

If people open up the Shared Fax Driver, they can see everything that has
come in. I guess what I *really* want them to be able to do is double click
the fax in the Fax Console, edit it, and save it back in that folder or into
a folder one level up (or down). But when they double click and use MSO Doc
Imaging (which is GREAT to clean up the faxes), it is not opening the
ORIGINAL file. It is opening a PREVIEW of the file that has been saved
locally on the temporary computer. If they edit that file, it is NOT editing
the original file. It edits the local file.

So for that to work, I would need them to be able to save the file into a
different directory. And then they would delete the fax from the Fax Console
(which deletes it off the network share). Is there a setting that can help
in MSO Doc Imaging (or Fax COnsole)?

Thanks!
