Microsoft Office Online

Can Microsoft Office Online be disabled? We are on a network and for some the panel appears only once and when closed, it doesn't appear again until computer is rebooted. For others, it appears each time they open a new document. Is there a way to opt to not have the panel appear at all? Where is the setting? Please reply to (e-mail address removed)

There is a check box (Startup Task Pane) on the View tab of Tools | Options
that you can clear. If this doesn't work, get the Task Pane Controller from
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/ShowTaskPane.htm.
