Microsoft office products quits immediately when started

I am having Microsoft office 2000 installed in my system,
all of a sudden , when i start working on any of the
products like word, excel, ppt, it quits immediately ,
without any warning.

pls help me out. hope i should do something with the
registry, but i had forgotten the steps.
