Microsoft outlook 2007 closes when opening an e-mail message

B

Brooks1946

every time I try to open an e-mail message, I get an error message saying
that the program has to close. Does anyone have a fix for this? If so,
please let me know what it is and if possible to explain how I do the fix!

Dell Inspiron 1505
2 GB of RAM
2.0 GHz core 2 Duo processor
windows XP media player operating system
Mozilla browser
Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9.5 speech recognition program
Microsoft's office suite
120 GB hard drive

Also, I am disabled and cannot use my hands. This problem is getting very
annoying because sometimes it locks up my systems for quite a while. Any and
all help will be appreciated!

Hello Brook,

Please try the following steps

start>run>regedit>Hkey Current user>Software>microsoft>office>outlook>addins
( right click and delete the add-ins ).
Hkey Local machine >Software>microsoft>office>outlook>addins ( right click
and delete the add-ins ).

thank you very much for your information. Because of my disability, I will
probably have to wait to try your suggestion, but hopefully this will work.
To my knowledge, I do not have that program on my computer. What is cloud
mark and would it prove useful to me?

Thank you very much for your quick reply!

DON'T delete the add-ins from the Registry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you need to disable the add-ins do so from the add-in Manager (Tools |
Trust Center | Add-Ins then the GO button towards the bottom) and, if the
problem is gone, add them back one by one until you find the cause. That one
can be permanently disabled.
Cloudmark could be a cause as could adobe add-ins.

I thought that was rather extreme, but unfortunately I got your message a
little too late because I already deleted the add-in programs.
Unfortunately, that did not solve the problem!please help! I always hate
messing with the registry.

First try repairing the Outlook/Office installation. If that doesn't help
see if using anew Profile created via the Mail icon in Control Panel helps.

I ran the repair option before I put on my questions, but yesterday I ran it
again was still no success! I will try your suggestion about creating a new
profile. Thank you for your help. I really do not want to do a complete
uninstall an reinstallation, but if I cannot figure this out soon that may be
my only recourse. I hope we can come up with a better solution.
