Microsoft Picture Manager

When downloading pps from Outlook, the Microsoft Picture Manager is now
compressing the power point slides into an icon which I have to download and
save and then run the Power Point to view.
This never happened before and all of my saved files with embedded pps
messages are the same.
Can I disable (remove) Office Picture Manager from the Office portfolio
without affecting the rest of my Power Point? Or is there another way of
getting around this?
