When I open a word file - it goes into the taskbar
without opening the file on the screen. No matter how
many times you click on the file. When try to reinstall
the CD is not responding. Can someone offer help for the
problem

It sounds like you have Word set to Open minimized?
If you right-click on it in the taskbar can you select
Restore or Maximize? If so, you're set to open Word
Minimized.

Check back if that's no help, and include as many
details as you can.
