Missing "Mail" icon

I recently installed Office 2003. Ever since then the "mail" icon in the
control panel has disappeared. As a result I cannot make changes to my email
accounts and this has caused a problem for me.
I prefer to use Outlook Express so I went so far as to uninstall Outlook as
I thought that might have something to do with the missing icon. Still no
luck.
Anyone have an idea as to how I get the control panel icon back?
Thanks in advance.

Since you uninstalled OE, have you tried to do a repair or reinstall of office?

I would try that and if that fails, I would probably uninstall office all
together and reinstall.

hope that helps

Thanks Dan, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I have in fact done as you suggested and did so right after the problem
began.....no luck. Somehow everything to do with the mail icon was deleted
and I can't find it anywhere in the system. I'll continue to try though.

Again, thanks.

This may not help much but....

I don't have a "mail" icon in Control Panel in XP but I may not have
noticed it before installing Office 2003.
I have it in a Win98 and Win ME computer but have never used it as it
has never seemed relevant.
The file in those computers is in the System folder and is Mlcfg32.cpl
and in Control Panel is called "Windows Messaging Profiles" though
when opened on those systems it only has Corel Settings Properties.
