Missing Out of Office Assistant

L

L. Mark Stone

A client is running Office XP on two new machines.

The Out-of-Office Assistant is missing from the Tools menu.

We followed the instructions in the Help file (from memory
= Tools > Options > Other > Advanced > Add-Ins > Exchange
Options) which is checked, but even running Detect and
Repair doesn't help.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

What version of Exchange do they have? Have you tried removing and
reinstalling the Exchange Extensions?

They are not running Exchange.

Are you saying the Out-of-Office Assistant only works with
Exchange?

That's correct.
You CAN emulate it with a rule, but that is not advisable for several
reasons, the main one being that a rule will reply to EVERYTHING, especially
all the spam!
