Modeling total capacity

We have 13 reosources available to work on a 15 month project (780 man
weeks). Based on current resource allocation, the work comes to about
700 man weeks. 80 man weeks is for buffer. I want MS Project show the
work capacity. How can I get it to show this number? Can I see this
number once I set the Resource Availability for each resource?

On the Resource Sheet view, you can right click on the graphical area.
Several choices become available including work availability, units
availability, etc. However, this is on a per resource basis.

Might you try using the Export Time Phased Data to Excel wizard to see if
you can obtain some more data to play with? Excel would be the better
analytical tool in this case.

Project 2007 offers some additional graphical reporting features and much
better integration with Excel using Pivot tables. You may want to give that
a try as well.
